Why Grief Coaching?

Grief coaching is about looking forward to a better future; finding the joy in life after tragic loss. It begins today, and moves forward instead of dwelling in the past. A grief coach is not a counselor or therapist, but someone who understands struggles and experiences because they have also had the same. Being a grief coach is not based on book knowledge, rather it is based on true life experiences and shared occurences that assist with empathy and understanding.

Do You Need a Grief Coach?

After reading the above two links, you may realize that you are "stuck" in the grieving process, or that you have progressed very slowly since your loss. You are looking back, when you really want to look to the future. There are people who need you and love you, and you want to be "there" for them. You wish to experience joy in life, and moderate your sadness.

As someone who continues to work through the grief process, I have received practical training in bereavement. In addition to formal training through seminars and courses, I have developed some personal strategies for self healing, including assembling a library collection on grief and coping, collecting music and poetry, and physical exercise and meditation.

I am a grief coach serving the Greater Rochester, New York area. Through personal coaching sessions, I encourage the bereaved to move forward through their grief. If this service interests you, please contact me for a complimentary 30-minute consultation at 585-594-0121.
